ASICS is kicking off the Spring season with a fresh silhouette, the GEL-K1011, fusing elements from iconic GEL-KAYANO® models with modern technology. Drawing inspiration from late '90s and early 2000s performance runners, ASICS' latest silhouette offers a perfect blend of nostalgia and innovation. Available on February 21st in White/Pure Silver and Black/Pure Silver.
The GEL-K1011 pulls from the GEL-KAYANO® 5, GEL-KAYANO® 6, and GEL-KAYANO® 10, incorporating key design elements from these legendary silhouettes. The upper features layered paneling, retro badge detailing, and bold overlays that evoke a true Y2K-era running aesthetic while maintaining a contemporary feel.
While its upper channels early 2000s influences, the midsole borrows from the GEL-CUMULUS® 17, introducing a dual GEL® technology insert system for enhanced impact absorption. This cushioning setup—FLYTEFOAM® and FLYTEFOAM® PROPEL—delivers both lightweight comfort and responsive bounce, ensuring all-day comfort and wearability.
The design takes cues from heritage silhouettes while integrating modern performance features. With GEL-CUMULUS® 17 midsole tooling, the shoe offers advanced comfort, while FLYTEFOAM® cushioning ensures a lightweight feel. The addition of FLYTEFOAM® PROPEL enhances energy return and bounce, complemented by rearfoot and forefoot GEL® technology for superior impact absorption. At least 30% of the upper's synthetic fiber materials are made from recycled content, reinforcing ASICS' commitment to sustainability.
