Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B

Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B "Parachute Beige" revives a key piece of Nike SB history. Before the official launch of Nike SB in 2002, the Pro B series laid the foundation for what would become one of the most iconic skate shoes, the SB Dunk. This latest release brings back the distinctive elements that made the Pro B special while updating it with modern refinements.

The Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B "Parachute Beige" is a reissue of a model that played a pivotal role in Nike SB history. Originally released in 1999, the Dunk Low Pro B was part of Nike's early efforts to cater to the skateboarding community. This model featured design elements that appealed to skaters, such as a padded tongue and collar for enhanced comfort and support.

The "Parachute Beige" colorway showcases a premium nubuck upper in a dusty beige hue, complemented by a painted Desert Khaki sidewall. The semi-translucent Copper Moon outsole adds a subtle yet distinctive touch to the overall design. This reissue not only pays homage to the original Pro B model but also incorporates modern enhancements to meet the needs of skaters today.

The reintroduction of the Dunk Low Pro B "Parachute Beige" serves as a nod to Nike's early experimentation with skate-specific footwear, which eventually led to the establishment of Nike SB, led by the late Sandy Bodecker, in 2002. By revisiting this classic model, Nike celebrates its skateboarding heritage and the enduring influence of the Dunk silhouette in skate culture.

The upper is crafted from premium nubuck in a muted parachute beige tone, offering a soft yet durable construction suited for skateboarding. A Desert Khaki painted midsole contrasts subtly against the upper, while the Copper Moon outsole adds a translucent finish that complements the earthy color scheme. The tongue and collar feature additional padding for comfort and protection, staying true to the original Pro B design. Wide oval laces, another signature detail from the early days of Nike’s skate experimentation, complete the look.

One of the defining characteristics of the Pro B was its elastic inner straps, designed to keep the foot secure while maintaining a snug fit. This feature reappears in the "Parachute Beige" iteration, reinforcing the functional design that made the Pro B a favorite among skaters before the SB Dunk officially took over.

As a tribute to an era when skaters modified basketball shoes to meet their needs, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro B "Parachute Beige" reflects both the past and present of Nike SB. The shoe releases tomorrow (1/22) at 11 AM EST, available in-store and online.
